Guided Visit to
“Revolutions – Records and Rebels – 1966-1970”
Saturday, February 16, 2019 - 10:45 a.m.

The scent of Flower Power is in the air …

Embark upon an odyssey that plunges you into the ideas, aspirations, utopic visions and the thirst for freedom of the late 60s. This was also a time of activism and anti-establishment demonstrations.  These cultural, social, artistic and technological revolutions, which all took place between 1966 and 1970, have shaped our current lifestyles and still have an impact on how we look to the future today.

Put on your headphones and immerse yourself in the sounds of the most iconic artists of the era (The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell). Take a trip from the streets of Swinging Sixties London, into the heart of the May ’68 demonstrations in Paris, passing by the Summer of Love in San Francisco, dipping into the world of Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by the Beatles, soaking up the Woodstock festival vibe or chilling in the counter-culture of the underground movement.

This is a unique opportunity to discover more than 350 symbolic objects of this period, including fashion, design, graphic design and photography, all displayed in a three-dimensional setting with videos.

This exhibition was created by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and includes subjects specific to Belgium such as the student demonstrations in Leuven and the Amougies festival. This was considered as the first European Woodstock and took place in Belgium with a line-up featuring Pink Floyd, Yes, Ten years After and Frank Zappa.

A not-to-be-missed revolutionary exhibition!

Please note that this visit is limited to 20 people.
