Jess Walter book presentation
The American writer Jess Walter (b. 1965) began his career as a journalist at an early age but soon proved he could turn his hand to just about anything. Besides writing for Harper’s and Esquire, his output includes screenplays, detective novels, short stories and novels. His work has been translated into more than thirty languages and has been crowned with the Edgar Allan Poe Award.
His international breakthrough came with Beautiful Ruins (2012), a kaleidoscopic novel about love, friendship and time. The Dutch translation of The Zero (2006) will be published in April by Marmer as Het Nulpunt. This novel about the chaotic days of post-9/11 was described by the Wall Street Journal as ‘the Catch-22 of 9/11’ and was shortlisted for the prestigious National Book Award.
Jess Walter will discuss both books with Radio1 journalist Ruth Joos.
