Wine tasting: A discovery tour of Cypriot wines

In September, ACB Partner Terre Mieli Cieli is teaming up with Nicolas Papageorgiou, a specialist importer East & Wine for a wine tasting featuring eight good and great wines from Cyprus.

Cyprus has been a cradle of wine production since 6000 BC. Its wines reached many European courts via the Crusaders. The island, which is closer to Turkey and Syria than it is to western Europe, continues to cultivate grapes from indigeneous varieties including Xynisteri, Mavro, Maratheftiko, Promara and Yiannoudi, as well as Shiraz and other international varieties. It has some active vines that are more than 100 years old (The photos here shows the vineyards of two of the wine producers we will taste.).

The tasting will include two white wines, five reds and a famous dessert wine from three different Cypriot wineries, Tisakkas, Zambartas and Vlassides. As usual, the wine will be paired with good food.

Nicolas will introduce each wine as we taste it and share his passion for Cypriot wines, but don't worry, there will be plenty of time for private conversations.

The tasting is limited to the first 30 people. 

ACB members and partner clubs get a discounted rate of 55 euros, non-members rate is 65 euros. This is a joint event with AWCB and ACB Partner Terre Mieli Cieli.
