Inaugural Hot Sauce Eating Competition

The best way to cool down on a hot summer day is with some spicy hot Cali-Mex food. Join us for a special Final Friday brought to you by corporate member CHEZWaWa, as we have our first “Hot Sauce Eating Contest.”
The rules are quite simple and will consist of two rounds, whoever can stand the heat will get their name on the prestigious American Club of Brussels trophy.
Round 1 - Each contestant can choose either a Vegetarian Burrito or Chicken Burrito. They will be allocated a specified amount of hot sauce and they must finish all of the hot sauce and burrito in 10 minutes to make it to the second round. Any spillage will lead to immediate elimination.
Round 2 - All remaining contestants will be able to raise the stakes in a winner takes all round of hot sauce poker. Each person can raise the ante with more hot sauce or step out of the competition.
All participants must sign-up by August 28th, and also must provide one bottle of hot sauce (the more creative the better) for the competition. Please drop off the hot sauce to CHEZWaWa (Rue Américaine 91) prior to the day of the event so that Palmer can have everything ready for the competition. Each participant will receive a burrito in round one and chips in round two. Only water can be consumed during the competition!
CHEZWaWa is an authentic "California-style" Mexican restaurant, offering fast-casual restaurants located on Rue Américaine in Ixelles and on Rue de la Presse in downtown Brussels, specializing in fresh and flavourful burritos, tacos, salads & more, made from farm-fresh Belgian produce and Mexican spices.
Please note that this competition is limited to 20 participants and will start at 6:15pm sharp (participants are advised to arrive for 6:00pm).
If hot sauce isn’t your thing, please come join and cheer on the participants – and in any case come for a beer and some tacos at this ACB Final Friday @ CHEZWaWa!

Price: €20. ACB/AWCB/CCB members receive a discounted price of €15. Free for participants joining Final Friday and not taking part in the hot contest sauce. Reservations are due by Wednesday, August 28th.
