The Second Tuesday Historic Bar Tour heads to central Brussels once again to a historic, old café bar with a menu that includes a wide variety of beers. The café’s website recounts some of its history:
“The Golden Paper Flower (“Goudblommeke in Papier” / “La Fleur en Papier Doré”) is a café with a famous past. The café was taken over on 15 October 1944 by the art dealer, poet and theater maker Geert van Bruaene, who gave it its current name. The café became a meeting place for many well-known artists of the surrealist movement. On 3 July 1997, the three rooms and the façade were classified by the Royal Commission for the Protection of Monuments and Sites of the Brussels Region. The Historic Bar Tour events are held the second Tuesday of each month and take place at different and interesting locations throughout the city of Brussels. Everyone is welcome and feel free to bring friends!
