A Guided Visit to
Anatolia:Home of Eternity

Join us on Saturday, October 24 for a guided visit of Anatolia, one of this year’s Europalia exhibitions.

Two hundred works of art from thirty Turkish museums are on display for the first time ever in Brussels. Archaeological treasures, sculptures, miniatures, textiles, porcelain and gold and silver objects give us a fascinating insight into Turkey’s rich heritage. The works were loaned from prestigious institutions such as the Topkapı collection, national and regional archaeological museums and private collections in Istanbul and Europe. Since the earliest prehistory, cultures have come together on the peninsula of Anatolia. The exhibition Anatolia: Home of Eternity delves into the shared roots of Europe and Asia and shows us the result of an age-old, cultural cross-pollination. Emphasis is placed on rituals in Turkish society, from the first settlements to the Ottoman Empire.

Our guide will once again be the excellent Lieve De Jonghe.

Please note that this visit is limited to 15 people and is a members-priority event. Non-members may sign up as of October 13.

After the visit, those who wish to may join us for a drink or a coffee in the neighborhood.
