Dear American Club Members and Friends,
Two thousand and
sixteen will be a banner year for the American Club: we will be celebrating
our 95th anniversary. To mark this special moment in the Club’s history, we
have planned two very special events.
On December 18 we
are hosting a Holiday Reception at the magnificent KBC building on the
Grand-Place. Join us for cava, wine, beer, and festive zakouskis at the
most beautiful location on this historic site, complete with a fabulous
view of the traditional giant Christmas tree and the sound and light
show. This will be your opportunity to mix with fellow members while
viewing the Grand-Place decked out for the holidays.
The celebration
will continue on January 23 with a gala dinner dance at the magnificent
BOZAR, designed by the famous Belgian architect Victor Horta, and centrally
located near the Mont des Arts and the Central Station. At 7:00 p.m., we
will welcome you in the beautiful Rotonde Bertouille with champagne and a
wide selection of delicious zakouskis while you listen to fabulous music
provided by the SHAPE band. At 8:00 p.m., we will move to the Horta Banquet
Hall for a three-course dinner, including white and red wines and water.
Details on these
events can be found in this month’s articles.
We look forward to
greeting you on these occasions, as well as at the other events sponsored
by the club – be it viewing a film on a WW II heroine or toasting the
festive season at the Holiday Reception.
Best wishes,
The Board of Governors
The American Club of Brussels
