The American Club offers members many activities and events throughout the year, for adults, young people and families. You'll find something in the American Club for everyone, and you can pick and choose activities as you like. There are sports, picnics, dinner evenings, dances, cultural trips, events centered around American holidays, cocktails, networking events, luncheon forums, famous personalities, trips to the theater, and many more.
Please go to the current CLUB CALENDAR for a listing of upcoming activities.
You can reserve on this website.
Here is a description of some of our regular events:
Final Fridays
On the final Friday of each month, the American Club holds a no-host reception at a local hotel, bar, or other unique venue. Both members and newcomers are welcome to this opportunity to meet periodically and keep contacts fresh. It is also a great time for prospective members to learn more about the club.
Dine-Outs
Every month, the American Club hosts a trip to a local restaurant for an evening of fun, good food and drink. The evening is open to all, even non-members, with idea of meeting new people and enjoying old friends in a convivial, pleasant and informal atmosphere. The meal is a fixed menu (sometimes choices are possible, and a vegetarian option is always available) and at a fixed, inclusive price. The Dine-Outs have a loyal following - why not join in one evening to enjoy the conversation, food and companionship.
American Club Luncheon Forums
Monthly, the American Club brings an excellent and qualified speaker to its luncheon to talk about a topic in current affairs.
The Luncheons are also popular as networking events, and are typically attended by professional and business members.
Ambassador's Dinner
The American Club joins with the American Chamber of Commerce once a year in hosting a formal dinner for the American Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium. The dinner offers the Ambassador an opportunity to speak to the American community in Belgium about Embassy and diplomatic issues. The annual dinner also gives everyone an opportunity to bring out the black tie (not mandatory but recommended) and to enjoy an excellent meal in splendid opulence.
Thanksgiving Dinner
By the end of November, everyone begins thinking of that old American Tradition of celebrating what we have received by breaking bread together over Thanksgiving Dinner. Always on the fourth Thursday in November, the American Club has held a very special family dinner so those who wish can continue the tradition in Brussels. This is in particular for families, but many join because they wish to eat with friends and enjoy the unique companionship Thanksgiving offers.
Christmas Party
In early December, the American Club holds the best Christmas Party in Brussels. Along with a great dinner and lots of Christmas ambiance comes your own special gift bag collected by the Club from merchants and companies just for you. A great, fun evening, especially when Santa calls.
Pioneers Dinner
The Pioneers comprise a subset of the American Club of Brussels: those who have been Club members for at least ten years. The formal Pioneers dinner is held twice a year, usually at the Chateau Sainte Anne.
